Breckenridge Great Rubber Duck Race 2019

A longstanding tradition, the 32nd Annual Great Rubber Duck race, takes place in Breckenridge on Saturday, August 31st, 2019. This Labor Day tradition, hosted by The Summit Foundation, provides grants to over 100 local non-profits in Summit County and scholarships to students. Bring the family to watch nearly 10,000 rubber ducks race down the Blue River. There are three divisions for this event: The Kids Duck Dash, the Business Battle Duck Race, and the Great Rubber Duck Race. 

The Summit Foundation

The Summit Foundation is a local foundation that works to assist families in Summit County to preserve our quality of life in the High Country. Over the past 35 years, the Summit Foundation has contributed nearly $30 Million to Summit County and neighboring communities. 

Schedule of Events

  • 10:00 AM: Free Kids Activities Begin

  • 1:00 PM: The FirstBank Kids Duck Dash starts from the Adams Street Bridge 

  • 2:00 PM: The Anthem Blue Cross & Shield Business Battle Duck Race Launches from Maggie Pond

  • 3:00 PM: The Breckenridge Grand Vacations Great Rubber Duck Race Launches from Maggie Pond

Costs and Prizes

All Ducks can be purchased online until August 30th at summitduck.org/quack.

The Kids Duck Dash is limited to 850 kids (12 and under). Ducks cost $10.00 each. If still available, ducks can be purchased at the Blue River Plaza on the day of the race up until 11:30 AM.

The Business Battle Ducks cost $100 per duck. The winner will receive a catered Snowcat trip for 12. Grand prize courtesy of Vail Resorts. The runner-up will receive prizes from community partners.

The Great Rubber Duck Race ducks cost $5 each but can be purchased in flocks.

  • Golden Flock – 26 Ducks for $100
  • Baker's Dozen – 13 Ducks for $50
  • Six Quack – 6 Ducks for $25

The Grand Prize for the race is $1,500! Other prizes include a vacation, ski passes, restaurant and spa gift certificates, and many more.
