Foote’s Rest Sweet Shoppe in Frisco Colorado

Krystal Knott December 13, 2018

If you’re looking for an afternoon of fun in Frisco, Colorado, stop by Foote’s Rest Sweet Shoppe for a sweet treat, games, and other amusing activities! Located on the west end of Frisco’s Main Street at 510 W. Main Street, Foote’s Rest Sweet Shoppe is a historic building renovated to a vibrant, classically retro candy store. Adjacent to the sweet shoppe is a once vacant lot now filled with picnic tables, fire pits, an adult beverage bar with food stand, horseshoes, and Cornhole (bean bag toss game). Foote’s Rest Sweet Shoppe is a perfect place to take all ages of the family for an afternoon or evening treat in Frisco, Colorado!

Foote’s Rest Sweet Shoppe’s main building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the property was once home to the Frisco Post Office, General Store, and Gas Station. The original building was built by Louis Wildhack, who was a local engineer and miner who was also the postmaster from 1914 to 1935. In 1946, the property was purchased by Robert & Helen Foote. Robert Foote served as postmaster from 1947 to 1965. The property is still owned by the Foote family.

Inside the Sweet Shoppe, directly to your right, you will see old-time post office boxes, look closely and you can see through the boxes where you can watch the candy makers (employees) create the shop’s homemade fudge. There is also homemade ice cream, a wall of mouth-watering candy, including jelly beans, jaw breakers, candy buttons, Big League Chew bubble gum, and many more throwback candy items. After you decide what sweet treat will entice your taste buds, head outside where you can listen to music around a fire pit or try your throwing arm at cornhole or horseshoes.
