The 2014/2015 ski season is here in Summit County, Colorado! Arapahoe Basin was the first resort to open in North America on October 17th, with many excited skiers and riders in line, including one person who for two decades has claimed the first chair by camping out for several days prior. A-Basin currently has two runs open: High Noon and Ramrod. With 4 inches of snow in the past 24 hours and additional snowfall in the forecast, more ski runs should be opening up soon. Below is a list of other nearby resorts, their current terrain status, and opening days for the 2014/2015 season:
Keystone Ski Resort – Opened November 7, 2014, currently Spring Dipper, River Run and Endeavor are available.
Copper Mountain Ski Resort – Opened November 7, 2014, the resort has 3 lifts and 6 trails open. Please note some of the trails have limited hours while the US Ski Team is training.
Breckenridge Ski Resort – November 14, 2014
Vail Ski Resort – November 21, 2014
Beaver Creek Ski Resort – November 26, 2014
Loveland Ski Resort – Opened November 1, 2014
If you prefer to Nordic ski or snowshoe, the Keystone Nordic Center is tentatively scheduled to open December 5, 2014, while the Gold Run Nordic Center located off Tiger Road (the Breckenridge Golf Course during the summer) is slated to open December 6, 2014, for the season. If you haven’t already done so, make sure to purchase your season passes or lift tickets for your next visit to Summit County, Colorado.
