The Jack Nicklaus-designed 27-hole Breckenridge Golf Course opens for another spectacular summer season on Friday, May 24, 2013. All 27-holes will be open with early-season conditions due to the late-season snow at the beginning of May. The driving range is also open from 9 am – 6 pm daily. Sitting at 9,324 feet in elevation, the Breckenridge Golf Course is true high altitude golf where they say the balls will fly farther due to the thinner air.
The Breckenridge Golf Club opened in 1985 with originally only 18 holes designed by Jack Nicklaus. In 2001, they added an additional 9 holes which were also designed by Nicklaus, known as the Elk. The Elk offers more elevation variations than the other two sets of nine holes, the Beaver and the Bear. Summit County and Breckenridge are known for near-perfect weather in the summer, ideal conditions for golf. Typically, you will never be too hot when you play the Breckenridge Golf Course, but be sure to bring a light rain jacket for the occasional spontaneous rain shower.
Located just north of Breckenridge’s Victorian Main Street, approximately 3 miles off of Tiger Road this superb municipal golf course is often mistaken for a private golf club due to it’s elegant clubhouse and pristine setting. Make sure to visit the golf shop next door to the restaurant for logo’ed golf apparel.
